Ground the church in your Word; your Word which proclaims love and grace to all people. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Renew creation through your Word; your Word which brought all things into being and sustains all life. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Guide the nations with your Word; your Word which speaks out for justice and peace among all peoples and communities. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray that the spirit of the Lord rest upon the church and its leaders, that we may walk in righteousness and faithfulness, proclaiming God’s judgement and mercy. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We pray that the spirit of the Lord rest upon all of creation, that as winter rest beings a spirit of renewal and healing be at work in the land and water. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
